Residencies

New Struan Day and Residential School offers a weekly residential experience for 52 weeks a year, providing a 24 hour programme of education and care.

We have residential accommodation within a mile of the school campus depending on the age and needs of the young person. This includes more independent living environments to support transition into adulthood.

Each person has Child Plan specifically designed to enhance their learning and personal development. Our team refer to the Child Plan to ensure consistency and to maximise opportunities for learning in the residential setting.

The residences offer an opportunity to put learning into practice, building on the school curriculum. It is also an environment in which the young people are supported to learn independent living skills and take responsibility for their own belongings. This could include core skills such as getting dressed, sorting laundry, cooking, setting the table and cleaning up.

All of our young people have their own private bedrooms as well as access to communal living space to encourage socialising with their peers. The residences also benefit from large, well equipped gardens for the young people to relax in and enjoy.
