School Trip to Lendrick Muir

Our pupils at New Struan School recently enjoyed their first ever residential school trip to Lendrick Muir outdoor activity centre! This was a huge learning experience for our pupils, especially as many have never had the opportunity to go on a residential trip before. Set in 120 acres of beautiful woodland and open ground, Lendrick Muir offers an exciting range of outdoor activities and experiences.

There was archery, canoeing, nature trails, biking and crazy golf, as well as more adventurous activities including bouldering, the leap of faith (which involved climbing up a huge ladder and jumping off the top) and raft building. The King Swing was a favourite among the group – a giant swing that two people go on while the rest of the group pulls them up really high before they are released and swing forward! There was also plenty of fun in the evenings with inflatables and discos, and a campfire on the final night before we headed home.

This time away from home offered pupils the opportunity to develop their confidence, independence and team working skills. There was a great sense of adventure as everyone explored the new environment and tried new activities. We are so proud of our pupils for how well they coped with this experience. It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying themselves and being so engaged in the activities. We would also like to say a massive thank you to all the staff that enabled this amazing experience to take place and to everyone who sponsored our Ben Nevis walk to raise money for the trip – it wouldn’t have been possible without all your support.
