Scottish Autism’s Excellence Journey using the EFQM model

Scottish Autism is a member of Quality Scotland (National Partner Organisation for EFQM in Scotland) since 2010. Quality Scotland is a charitable, membership organisation working with over 250 organisations across Scotland from the private, public and third sectors.

EFQM/Quality Scotland offer organisations a series of European-wide awards recognising organisational excellence. The programme is based on the EFQM Model and provides a rigorous and independent assessment of your organisation’s performance. Each Level of Excellence has been designed to support organisations at different stages of their excellence journey.

Using the EFQM excellence model Scottish Autism was delighted to achieve the following awards:

  • Committed to Excellence Award in June 2013
  • Recognised for Excellence 3 star Award in June 2015
  • Recognised for Excellence 4 star Award, Harnessing Creativity & Innovation and The Ambassador for Excellence Awards in June 2017
  • Scottish Award for Business Excellence, Recognised for Excellence 5 Star award and Adding Value for Customers award in July 2019

The Good Practice awards recognise individual strengths in organisations that have achieved the EFQM Recognised for Excellence award and are only awarded to an organisation if they demonstrate a very high standard in a particular area.

Recognised for Excellence 5 star is the highest level that can be achieved and followed a week-long visit by a number of Quality Scotland assessment team members. This was made up of people from a variety of organisational backgrounds across the UK and they met with our staff and examined a number of our core services.

Scottish Award for Business Excellence Winner is awarded to the highest scoring 5 star organisation in Scotland each year.
