Get Set 4 Autism
Get Set 4 Autism
What is Get Set 4 Autism?
Scottish Autism's Get Set 4 Autism project provides post-diagnostic support to parents and carers of autistic children and young people up to the age of 18 years old across Scotland. The project aims to promote a greater understanding of autism, improve communication between parents and professionals, and ultimately equip parents with the information and practical skills they need to support their child.
As a parent/carer, what does the support involve?
The support is provided over 4-6 sessions with an advisor. The sessions can either be delivered by phone or via MS Teams / Zoom.
In the first session an advisor will give you time to share your journey so far, and will take the time to understand your family circumstances. From this, the advisor will then help you to identify up to 5 areas of support. This is to ensure throughout the project, the advisor is providing support where you feel you require it most based on your families circumstances.
As a parent/carer, how can you access the project?
Following a diagnosis, this can for some seem like quite a daunting time, however no matter where you are in your journey Scottish Autism is here to help.
