Event Information

Join us for a Facebook Live event where our host Charlene Tait, Deputy CEO will be joined by guest speaker Dr Alyssa Alcorn, LEANS Project Lead Researcher at the University of Edinburgh’s Salvesen Mindroom Research Centre.
The Learning About Neurodiversity at School (LEANS) resource pack is a free curriculum for mainstream primary schools to introduce pupils aged 8-11 years to the concept of neurodiversity, and how it impacts our experiences at school. It was jointly developed by a neurodiverse team of researchers and educators. LEANS’ goals are to improve knowledge and acceptance of neurodiversity and neurodivergence across the whole classroom, and encourage positive, inclusive actions. This session will cover the basics of what LEANS is, and why primary schools might want to use it. It also considers how parents can get involved.
