Get Active for Autism in 2013

In 2012 the Scottish Autism team of supporters raised a record amount of over £40,000 by running, walking, abseiling and cycling.

These donations are helping us to improve our services, offer more opportunities to the people we support and to improve their quality of life.

This year we want to extend our new Right Click parent support programme and you can help us by getting active for autism and taking on a new challenge!

Whether it is a walk, a run, a cycle, an abseil or a swim, we have a great choice of events you can sign up to.

Take inspiration from Ianthe Hind who ran 12 races in 2012:

Ianthe’s ten year old nephew has autism, and she witnesses the daily struggle his mother and father go through in order to give him as fulfilling a life as possible.

Ianthe said, “My brother and sister-in-law do an amazing job raising Cole, but if it weren’t for the support of Scottish Autism things would be so much tougher.  I witness the great work Scottish Autism does, and thought that by challenging myself to completing 12 runs in 12 months it might inspire people to donate money to this great cause.  I found the first run really hard, but focused on Cole and managed to run the whole way which I am very proud of.”

By the end of 2012 Ianthe had completed her 12 runs and raised almost £1000.
